SEGA UPDATE...

As you will know I have been rinsing the Sega master system/Genesis for the past couple of weeks, and picked up a tone of new games of the carboot and EBay, check what I got....

Cant really be doing with going into reviewing them all, as it would just take too much of my time, and stuff like reviewing games is done so well over at www.cinemassacre.com that I don’t think I have any right to tread on that ground,
But I did get this game today!

Ask anyone who knows me...Toxic Crusaders is one of my favorite franchises off all time, created by Lloyd Kauffman in the early 90's as a Children’s version of his soft porn exploitation 'the toxic avenger' (only god knows were films that are as extreme as toxic avenger become the foundations of a Saturday morning children’s cartoon) but it did, and in my opinion is one of the best designs for a cartoon ever (I have a tone of toxic crusaders figures and memorabilia, will hopefully get a post with it all in up at some point)

Anyway, there was no hesitation and soon as I got in from work I stuck the cartridge in the Sega and let rip on some radiation rangers!
...Died on level 3, kept falling in the water...
Oh well...great game, and even if it wasn’t who cares, its toxic crusaders!!

Also, got mega games 2 with Streets of rage and Shinobi!!!...already had golden axe so not as hyped about that, but a great set of games, me and my sister spent a good hour and got onto the last level...god I love streets of rage...

And finally... I thought this picture was quite funny...i am actually moving into a new house in the next few weeks, so I have been boxing all my toys up, this is like 1% of the collection I own, but I think it looks quite funny, all in sterile transparent boxes lol

VR TROOPER STUFF...

So this came through today...

Love this game, but not very often seen! I take it that it wasn’t a popular game or something who knows...anyway, I love it, and am also a massive fan of V.R Troopers, another 90s Saban Toei stock footage kids show...

Had a little blast earlier (working full time is mega flip sided...on the shit side...you get like 3 hours if that to your self a day...on the good side you get money to buy lots of toxic figures)
So using the small amount of time I had to take these pics and write this blog, I had a quick blast on the game and got onto the second level, I beat Tankotron, and got onto battling Decimator but he beat me straight away...
Anyway...great game, great beat em up, and being a big fan of VR Troopers a nice addition to my collection...

Also...thought I would upload pictures of this rare Battle Grid Ryan Steele I got shipped over from America! One of the prizes of my collection without a doubt!

SEGA MEGA DRIVE BLAZE...

Bought this the other day from HMV and OH my days! it was worth every penny...
I have wanted to pick up a megadrvie for ages now. but with the original console being over 2 decades old, I would be expecting one I bought from a car boot to pack in after a month or so...
i opted for the less cheap yet allot more reliable version, the Sega Mega Drive Blaze, I seriously cannot understand why every bloke hasn’t got one of these in there house...foreal its that good..

The blaze already comes with 16 games built in including some major classics such as Golden Axe, Sonic and Knuckles, Altered Beast and Shadow Dancer...sadly no streets of rage though, have to wait till I see that at car boot...(this actually really annoys me cause EVERYONE considers Streets of rage to be one of…if not THE BEST Sega Mega drive game ever, so why is it such a taboo subject to include it in this package? It was the same with the PSP UMD game they released, the Sega mega drive classics…great selection of games…yet still no streets of rage!)

The beauty with this machine is that you can actually play the old games on the new console, so just pick them up off eBay, car boots or markets and get playing! so far i have collected...

The Joy Pad is real nice too, I was a bit concerned that with it not being the exact same as the original it would make playing feel less Nostalgic, but no...its fine, and no delay on the buttons...

I have always welcomed with open arms any type of console/hack/ROM that enables you to play your favorite retro games, in my opinion, classic Side scrollers, beat em ups ect… just have an amazing charm that cannot in any way be captured in 3d rendered graphics…I am so glad there are still people around who care enough to make these consoles and give us the games we grew up with.
Anyway, here it is set up in my room, Hours of fun :)

RANDOM CARBOOT FINDS PART 2

Found these today....

This ghost buster’s plaster cast maker is Awesome! and never even been opened! brappp!

And this guy...

Not usually a fan of Plush figures, but could not resist this creature from the black lagoon...look forward to driving around with him in the passenger seat when I get my car...however, he can just live on my bed for Now

ROBOT HEROES...

Thought u would just upload my Robot Heroes Collection, its grown like mad over the past months, there is still a few I need, but I am sure i will get them at some point,
I am a big fan of there look though, stumpy Anime/Graffiti stylized versions of all the original Gen 1 TF and the Beast Wars bots too!

Juken Sentai Gekiranger!!!!!

Really liked the look of these guys...to the untrained eye they would just look like 'power rangers' but naaa your wrong...there Juken Sentai Gekiranger!!
Really liked the figures, but they was always like £6-£8 pound, and I wasn’t paying that...not when I know I would get them of the car boot in a few months for 3% of the price...But I got tipped off TJ Hughes still had a toy department, so thought I would go check it out...Too my joy I found they were clearing these guys out and was under half the price sold everywhere else...
So i grabbed all they had apart from the Bad Guy (i will get him next time...was only wanting the rangers that day)
anyway, I really like them and think there all individually nice pieces to display. Check them out!

Got these Mahou Sentai Magiranger (mystic force)at the car boot a few weeks before, was very happy to find the full set!
Didnt all have there weapons, but most of em had the Morphers and they can be the hardest thing to find

More Sentai and Kamen/Masked rider updates coming soon, got so much stuff to show you people!
Keep checking back! :P

Space boy...
found this guy other day at a car boot, was expecting him to be like £20 quid, was on a dealers stall, but really liked it so asked him how much anyway...to my amazement he was only asking £4!...me being me I knocked him down to £3 anyway...

I don’t know what he is, defiantly a vintage tin toy, should take some batteries in the back, but the cover is missing, and I doubt if it would still work, looks like it used to circle around on the floor with some flashing lights

Really nice find though, very pleased with this find, I am a big collector of vintage robots and spaceship spaceman...

Off to the Sunday car boot (witch is always a good one and were I have picked up allot of the stuff here, including road kill man and space boy) hopefully looking to find some more oddities, and some mega drive game!

ADVENTURE PEOPLE & ACTION FORCE

Just wanted to do a little bit on these guys….Action force & Adventure People...
Really like these figures and go quite well together even though they are from completely different sets, Clawtron was always one of my favourite figures growing up, and was lucky enough to find two very cheap on EBay, some of the Buy it now Clawtrons are like £30!
got these guys for about £3 so deffo a bargain there :P

I love this space man too…there’s so many wicked adventure people figures, but these are all I have as of yet…the Sci-fi versions are all wicked, kinda remind me of an early version of Chap Mei figures..(Chap Mei review coming very soon too!)

And these guys are from Action Force…
Really love these two…Again, Kraken was one of my favourite figures as a kid, and managed to get another one, I got his net too but didn’t show it in the picture, it is basically just a piece of black netting lol…

as for Skeleton, I never knew he existed until I was searching for action force online and came across him!
I think he is a great figure and would have loved him as a kid.
I am going to put some more action force figures up very soon as I have about 12 other different ones.

Also, got these guys in a bag of random bits other day from the car boot, (also had Jargons helmet in there from thundercats!!! Get in!!)
along with a load more random pieces old and new…

ROADKILL...

Road Kill man....the less said about this guy the better...
But he does look like he was once a keying, at least that’s what the hole in the top of his head suggests...
a classic 'mad in china' and crappy paint job more than likely tells us he was bought in a shop in Skegness...or somewhere very similar, possibly on one of the key ring racks with lots of weird and cheap key rings for sale..

But that all just adds to his charm, in my opinion anyway, and as soon as I saw him I thought he would make a great addition to the blog. He does kinda look like he has been either un over, or has starved to death..

Also...I got this guy of the same stall (the same stall I found the dehydrated starvation road kill victim...)
Its an old finger puppet, I used to have a couple of em as a kid, just cheap rubber toys, but Justin over at www.weirdotoys.com was (amazing blog BTW! check it out!)
Was looking into the origins of the 'Musical Wind-Up Demon Lumberjack' and I recognized the face used for the figure was from this same set of rubber finger puppets...so thought I would grab it for that reason if nothing else...
Anyway, much more to come!
