STONE AGE PREHISTORIC DINOSAUR MEN...

Anyone who knows me (or checks this blog) will know my affinity for dinosaurs and anything prehistoric, and cave men barbarians are no exception!
as for Chap Mei, I am a HUGE fan, I think out of ALL of the action figures out today, they are killing it as the top toys for ideas and detail,
From what I know (and this is simply from my experience of seeing these guys progress)
they started out in the cheapest of bargain bins, then progressing to pound land and Wilkinson’s, but today I find them in the early learning centre, especially the Jurassic park style play sets, and that’s what these guys are, play sets, you can either buy the individual figures, or a huge play set, usually containing, a vehicle, a dinosaur, part of a castle, and more guns and missiles than any one child could loose,
And not only this, but they seem to have tapped into nearly EVERY genre, everything from sea life emergency rescue, too mummies tomb scorpion raiders (I am making these names up, they will have proper names :P )
but I am fascinated with these figures, I have ALOT of them...I have got S.W.AT team recon troops, space aliens, Tarzan Jungle Warriors, all the way to Cyber Ninja Assassins (there I go again making up names :P )
I will be posting the other chap mei figures I have up on here soon, but for now i just wanted to concentrate on these guys I got from Sainsbury’s during the half price sail, they are called 'Stone Age Dinosaurs'...

And I love them! I love the bone helmets, i love the crude weapons forged from dinosaur jaws and terradon wings, and I just think everything about them is so unique and imaginative,
They also reminded me of 'dino riders ice age' figures, which I love but own none of :(

I have took lots of pictures of these guys so u can see the heads up close and stuff, not much to say about them, they speak for them selves!

Also got these two space chap mei figures on the same day, wasn’t as impressed with them (and are allot bigger than the standard chap mei size) but had to grab them for £1 each!
they have strange spiked light saber’s, and both light up when u press the button on there belts, the black and red one with silver chest (I am presuming he is the bad guy) even has a removable hat…..wow

Also, this is nothing short of an AMAZING find my dad got at a car boot this Sunday, along with a couple other manta force ships and bases, all complete with there missiles and soldiers, soooo rare to find these with all the pieces together, and I think I will add this evil ship to my toxic figure collection! (and i apologise for the dust on this thing not had a chance to give it a whipe was too exited to get it on the blog! must have been in somebodys attic for years!)

Dehidrated, Anorexic roadkill man update…

i have Been real busy this week, so not really had a chance to put anything on the blog, I have picked a couple new figures up though so will be up on here shortly! but I did however get a comment on my 'road kill' post...

http://toxicfigureskingdom.blogspot.com/search/label/bizarre%20weirdo%20toys%20rubber%20figures%20vintage

from a really cool guy called Bubbashelby who runs an amazing toy review blog, old and new toys, check him out at http://toyriffic.blogspot.com/
Well he left a comment saying he had seen the Anorexic dehydrated road kill victim on another page, so obviously I checked the link to find this....

(this guy 'babo prisoner figures' has some AMAZING figures, was really jealous looking thru his stuff, especially all his rubber figures, got sum great stuff, deffo check him out! http://www.flickr.com/photos/astronit/2539054206/)

I was like OHHH SHIT! Couldn’t believe there was a whole series of these guys, and weirdest thing is I actually remember having the guy in blue shorts who is hung up by his wrists (thing he was from a cheap Skegness gift shop when I went on holiday at around 8 years old)
But was great to see a set of 6!!
Looks like some of them used to have window suckers on there backs, and it also looks like most of them are torture chamber/dungeon victims left to hang, and die in the case of the skeleton guy :O.....

Also, check the other stuff he has got on there, some great rubber figures that I am sure anyone who checks the blog will appreciate!

And I just wanted to give another HUGE thanks to Bubbashelby from toyriffic for the link to the figures and urge everyone to check his blog right away!

UNDEAD' LA VIVA LOCA

Picked this guy up from Sainsbury’s today, and just in time! Tomorrow all the cool Halloween stuff will be taken off the shelves, so was loving the clearance prices on everything
Anyway, couldn’t resist this dancing light up skeleton, i pressed his 'try me' button and instantly had to have him!

Also, a nice racket of half price GI-Joes too, a Neo Viper, Baroness Plus Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes Action Battlers...

TOXIC FOOD PART 2/ PLUSS RANDOM TOXIC WASTE..

Check this...Its an Aero mint hot chocolate with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles on it, My younger sisters idea....and a very good idea at that!
Its all about toxic hot chocolate...

Also, got some other stuff to show...
...A crazy Earth Worm Jim I drew at work yesterday....

...And some brand new GI-JOE's for the collection! Cobra Commander and Croc Master! Cobra!!!!!!!!!

Also, a trio of recent Finds...Kamen Rider SkyRider, I cant stress enough how much I love the Gashapon Ultimate Solid Toei figures, they are amazing in every way, I have about 30 of em, maybe I will put em all on the blog one day, but just grabbed this one cause one of the few I need to complete my Kamen Rider Gen Series, and I think the less said about the movie version of Cobra Commander the better....I will say I am not the biggest fan of his movie design or origin story, but I do like the figure!
And finally grabbed this Hasbro Dead Pool figure from Sainsbury’s, I love how the design and size is perfect to display along side GI-Joe figures, but just bare in mind he doesn’t come with a stand! (I had to give him one from else were) and he comes with some wicked swords and a Sai that he cannot hold, cause his hands are only made to hold the AK47 (with no stock) so not the best design practically, but looks great in the collection!

TOXIC FOOD PART 1...

VERY OFF TOPIC! But I was just making my sandwiches before work tomorrow (all about saving the money for toxic figures) and I thought the size of the new 'Moon Bread' (name curtsy of flex digits @ www.myspace.com/flexdigits..AKA My partner in crime) was very funny (I thought so anyway, it is actually Frikkin HUGE!
I go shopping at the weekend to pick up ingredients for my sandwiches and have been searching for the ultimate bread cakes for some time...well this weekend I found it, and I thought it was deffo worthy of making it on the blog for toXic food, I put am old GI-JOE figure next to it to show the size difference, and it just looks like the sandwich is going to devour the Joe so I am gonna go get him out of there quick...
But before I go....yeah, there you have it, toxic food part 1....part 2 coming very soon! (Seriously, i do actually have a part 2 coming soon! lolll)

Few more pics from London...

Just a couple more pictures of me and my mate Paul in the Natural History Museum yesterday, seriously, if you do ever have a chance to check this place out, then DO! Just make sure you put a whole day aside, because it is actually HUGE! And there are ALOT of cues to wait in, we waited an hour to see the dinosaur skeletons, but was defiantly worth it!

Could not leave London without grabbing a few Toxic Figures though, check these ultra kool GI-JOE 25th Anniversary figures, they didn’t have all the characters I wanted, but you cannot get them were I live, only on EBay, so took the liberty to grab a couple while i was in London, B.A.T is deffo the highlight of that harvest!

Walking with Giants...

Yesterday was amazing, I met up with Ian Mculloch from Zombie Flesh Eaters and Zombie Holocaust, and what a gent he was, usually when you go to meet someone of cult status, it is over a 30 second book signing, witch is always a little disheartening to me…when u have grown up wanting to meet someone, and when u finally do its for a few seconds and all those thousands of fascinating questions you thought up go out of the window, but not this time, I got a good 20 minuet chat with MR. Mculloch and enjoyed it very much, telling me some great stories about filming the zombie movies and about what the rest of the cast are up too these days
we then all watched Zombie Flesh Eaters on the big cinema screen, and it really reminded me of why I love the Work of 70s/80s Italian directors, especially Lucio Fulci, and why I will defend there awsomenss to the grave!
He was also kind enough to give me a small signed poster from zombie flesh eaters and to sign my old VHS cover of flesh eaters, witch is now framed in my house!
really big special thanks too rob at Celluloid Screams for the event!

However….the good times did not stop there as today I went to London to meet a very special hero of mine….Ray Harryhausen!
Ever since I was a child I have always been fascinated with the work of Ray Harryhausen, to be honest, most people are! And I am no exception, I have followed him from the very first day I watched Sinbad and the eye of the tiger,
the quirkiness of his animation has always left a very big impression on me, and from an early age, up to present day, a month hasn’t gone by were I have either Watched his movies or read his amazing book ‘Ray Harryhausen, an animated life’
Having a background in animation and film making, I have not only admired his skills as a sculpture, but as a visionary who breaths life into his models like no one else,
I have idolised him from the day I knew of his existence, and I will continue to do so until the day I die,
Anyway, today I had the amazing honour of meeting the legend himself Ray Harryhausen along with another ggreat gguy Tony Dalton (the co writer of both An animated life & The Art of Ray Harryhausen) at London’s Forbidden Planet mega store , and what an amazing day it was, I am not even going to lie…it was actually the single most hear warming, unforgettable day of my life, and I will treasure the memories of meeting Mr Harryhausen forever, he was an absolute star, signing both of his Books for me, and telling me how I should change my name to ‘theodopolis’ Legend!
What made the day even more surreal is that half way through the signing, who should walk through the door….but none other than JOHN LANDIS! Director of American Werewolf in London. The Michael Jackson Thriller video, Blues Brothers, and many many more amazing pieces of cinema…
at first I wasn’t sure if it was him, and I simply asked the person next to me…’Is that John Landis?!’ to hear the person next to me reply ‘….yeah?!’
one of the crowd members said ‘john…what brings you here today?’ and john replied ‘what do you mean what am I doing here?! I am here to meet ray fuckin harryhausen! Do you think I would miss this?! Are you crazy?!’ it was amazing, 2 people I have idolised all my life, and such major icons in film both together in the same room, and the fact John Landis had come all the way JUST to meet ray and get his Autograph was very touching, and I am sure Ray was extremely proud, you know you have achieved something when John Landis comes to you for your autograph….
But back to Ray….he was everything I ever hoped he would be and more, so humble and even at the age of 90/ish went along to meet his fans and sign anything they had brought free of charge.

I will honestly never forget today, big thanks to the guys at forbidden planet for organising such an epic event!
the day was finished off nicely by a trip to the natural history museum, a place I have wanted to visit all my life, and finally got to take a tour of the place today, I am a HUGE fan of Dinosaurs and standing next to a full size Triceratops, Iguanodon, Mammoth (plus hundreds more too many to mention) it really made me realise how huge these guys were, and also a much better understanding of how they lived and how real it was that they did actually roam our planet all those years ago…

New Stuff

New hat…
Big GI-JOE Fan, and picking up the movie again on DVD reminded me why I do love the franchise.
Some of the best Bad guys in cartoon history too, with names like Destro, storm shadow and DR. Mindbender you can’t really do wrong.
Anyway, picked the New Era hat up off eBay, don’t think they will be easily found in UK, but I loved it and had to grab one soon as I saw it on there, took a while to arrive, but here it is!
COBRAAAAA!!!

I also love the small GJ-Joe logo inside the hat!

Also, got this crystal skull mug (least that’s what I call it lol) as a present yesterday from 2 very good friends of mine!
I love it...

I love skull mugs (check my earlier post) and I always wanted this one from my friends house, apparently they are from Adsa (wall mart in America) and are only on sale around Halloween, so if you want one grab em fast!
It’s the type of cup that its wrong NOT to drink crimson colored liquid in, but I plan to have mine full of jelly beans on the coffee table in my new house! brap

FOOTSKI...

Another one of my favourite genres of all time is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, especially the original cartoon ect,
I am an avid collector of the cartoons figures,
I have many of the figures, Baxter Stockman, Rat King ect...trying to get them with all there original accessories however can be an almighty struggle, I am not doing bad, most of the figures I have are either complete, or are missing a minor detail...or I will have most of the weapons for a figure...just not the figure itself...that said it is defiantly satisfying picking up the loose figure and being able to put all the parts with it I have collected over the years...
Anyway, I had a loose Footski for quiet some time, until last Sunday I picked up a huge box of 90s Power rangers 9including a 100% Percent complete dragon zord and Megazord, woop woop! also, in the bottom were tones of pieces for ninja turtles and toxic crusaders, which made me a happy man, it had stuff like baxter stockmans fly swatter and rat kings belt (all which I needed desperately) it also had toxie's belt from toxic crusaders which I have been after for a long time, as well as lots of other pieces i needed to complete various playmates figures...
I did also fish out of there the remaining pieces I needed for my TMNT Foot Clan's footski...so here it is (unfortunately did not have the front red missile...doubt I will ever find it, cant seem to find a clear enough picture of it online anywhere for source material...even so, here is my 99% complete Footski with Triceraton at the main controls!

I love the Mouth in the front of the vehicle and the snakes that seem to be keeping it afloat! (This vehicle was actually designed to go in the bath!) It makes no sense as to why these things would be part of the vehicle. I mean, how would they be alive?
But it doesn’t matter, kids didn’t care, they just wanted something that looked messed up and Toxic! As long as it was bright colours and fired missiles, we didn’t care!
this type of thing is just so typical of Ninja Turtles, and most playmates figures released around that time for that matter, especially TMNT and Toxic Crusaders, everything seemed to have loads of boils growing on the skin, and worms, snakes and squids wriggling though the vehicles and stuff,

It really takes me back talking about these toys, Ninja Turtles and Ghostbusters were and will always be so close to my heart, no matter how sad it sounds, its true, if it wasn’t for this stuff brightening up my childhood I would not be the person I am today, and I love the person I am today, so it all seems very fitting for me to still cherish the memories I had growing up playing with these toys…
Anyway, that’s enough nostalgic talk from me, hope you are enjoying what I have been doing with this blog, not going through the best time in my life at the minuet, and as daft as it sounds, these old Sega games and action figures really brighten my days when I am not feeling my best,
I had a lot of fun growing up, and this stuff still makes me happy 21 years on, always seems like its there to provide what can be a really shit world with some harmless fun, even if it is mutant triceratops men and vintage robots…

WIERD MONSTER DINOSAUR UPDATE...

Not so much an update...but I did pick up another one today...Were do these guys come from?! lolll

As you will be able to see, this one is green, and is similar to the Peach Coloured Winged Dragon I posted up when the blog was first started,
Anyway There he is...i am shure more will follow at somepoint...

RETRO ROBOTS...

One of my all time favourite things are Vintage robots,
well, today I found this amazing one at the Car boot!!

He came boxed, with all his missiles in a small plastic bag, complete and mint!

I love the black and yellow with the red eyes…
The box is awesome too, some people don’t really get too fussed about the boxes, but I think they finish of the figure displayed nicely if you are fortunate enough to have the box that your robot came in…

Well…I knew I was instantly wanting to put this guy up on here…but then I thought I would let you guys see some of my other robots too.....

I do have more, but these are the pride of my collection, but I am always looking to expand the cyber city… so more please!
